The traditional single sidesword tournament will be capped at 40 participants. Weapons will be provided by the event organisation.

The sidesword & buckler tournament will also be capped at 40 participants. Weapons will be provided by the event organisation.

Cutting
The cutting tournament is designed to test the participants’ ability to consistently cut a variety of patterns and display competence in the mechanics of cutting with a sword.
The tournament will be multiple rounds, with people being eliminated each round until 3 or 4 finalists are left. The tournament is capped at 20 participants. A sharp, historically accurate sidesword will be provided.

Cutting patterns
Round 1:
Cut 1: Mandritto sgualembrato
Cut 2: Roverso sgualembrato
Cut 3: Roverso ridoppio
Cut 4: Mandritto sgualembrato
Cut 5: Roverso tondo
Finals:
Target 1:
Cuts 1,2 & 3: Lightning cut. Mandritto sgualembrato, Roverso Ridoppio, mandritto sgualembrato. This is is a fast sequence of cuts with NO pauses in between the cuts. Not staying in continuous motion will be penalized as no cut.
Cut 4: Mandritto tondo
Target 2:
Cuts 1 & 2: Mandritto sgualembrato & roverso sgualembrato. This is is a fast sequence of cuts with NO pauses in between the cuts. Not staying in continuous motion will be penalized as no cut.
Cut 3: Mandritto ridoppio
Cut 4: Falso manco
Cut 5: Roverso tondo
